The Hybrid car burns less gasoline than an equivalent gasoline-fueled vehicle. So, by burning less gasoline the emissions are lesser. The less the emissions the less pollution the world is left with. Hybrid cars, as a system, are tuned to an optimum efficiency level. They aim at a fuel efficiency of 45%-70%. This translates to a reduction in fuel consumption of over 60%. The optimal mileage of a car thus depends on the efficiency of the engine, its frequency of use and its overall condition. A very efficient engine in fact can shift the ratio to a greater extent. A high-performance engine will allow a greater ratio of fuel consumption. As a rule, the more an engine is tuned to an optimum level, the less fuel it will be needed to produce.

 

Hybrid cars as a system have more aerodynamics and less engine strength than convention gasoline-fueled vehicles. These restrictions on strength can be remedied by added parts and devices.

 

The electric-diesel hybrid car has been in existence in Europe since 1999. Diesel-powered vehicles were part of the original legislation passed in Europe. After a few years these Diesel engines were replaced by Hybrids. Now, the distinction is being made between gasoline-powered cars and those that run on diesel (Hybrid Cars).

 

It will be ours to decide if we opt for a Hybrid car over a Gasoline-powered car. Your decision will depend upon your interests and pocket. It should be noted that the average mileage per gallon of gas is almost 50% lesser than what the Automakers say is their mileage per gallon of gasoline.
